Green & Blue
The green section represents the land (whenua) and the blue section represents the oceans (moana). This showing the connection between indigenous peoples.
The colours represent the relationship between Rangi and Papa (thus representing whakapapa and creation) as well as the relationship between
Tangaroa and Tāne (connecting us to whenua and other indigenous cultures).
Manaia
Manaia are the messenger between the earth and the spiritual world to represent indigenous ancestors and their guardianship over indigenous lands
and guardianship for our ventures to new lands.
Fingerprint
The fingerprint design layered within the green section represents
indigenous identity and connection to the land (whenua).
